Several accommodation properties are in close proximity to the Conference Venue.

An accommodation block has been made at Hotel Grand Chancellor where the Conference is being held and at The Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel.

ACCOMMODATION BOOKING CONDITIONS

Please Note: 

  • The accommodation rates quoted include GST and are subject to availability at time of booking.
  • Rates may increase without notice due to changes in government charges, taxes or levies.
  • The deadline for accommodation bookings through East Coast Conferences is Friday 12  July

Accommodation Payment: Full prepayment of accommodation is required to secure your booking.
Accommodation Availability: Block bookings have been made at the above properties, and will be confirmed on a first-in basis. Bookings have been made for the Conference dates only (Checking in on Sunday 24 August and Checking out on Thursday 29 August 2019). Accommodation can be organised outside these dates on a by-request basis only, and room rates may vary outside these dates.  All accommodation bookings are subject to availability.
How to Book Accommodation: To book, complete the Registration Form and email or post to East Coast Conferences. The Conference Managers will forward your reservation and full pre-payment to the hotel.
Change of Booking: Any change to a reservation must initially be notified to the Conference Managers and not directly to the hotel.  Please note, any changes must be made to the Conference Managers by Friday 12 July 2019.  After this date, please liaise directly with the hotel for any changes to your booking. Cancellations must be made in writing (fees may apply).
Late Arrivals: Please indicate on your registration form or notify the Conference Managers in writing if you will arrive at your hotel after 6pm.  Failure to notify of a late arrival may mean that your room will be released, and deposit forfeited.
Arrival Time: Hotel check-in time is 2pm for both properties. If you are to arrive before this time it is probable that you will not be able to gain access to your room.  To guarantee a room to be available for an early arrival you will need to pre-book your room for the previous night.  If required please indicate on your registration form. (You will be charged by the hotel for the additional night). 
Accommodation Refunds: Any accommodation cancellations received after Friday 12 July 2019 will be subject to the hotels accommodation cancellation fee. One night’s accommodation cancellation fee will also be incurred if you do not arrive on the date for which you have booked.

Travel

Hobart is less than two hours flying from eastern Australian cities like Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, making it perfect for short breaks and business travel. Daily domestic flights are available to and from Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth and multiple daily domestic flights to and from Sydney and Melbourne.

 

GETTING TO HOBART

By Air:

Hobart has an international and domestic airport (www.hobartairpt.com.au), which is linked by various local airlines to all the major cities in Australia (although often with a stop on the way). International charter flights with Singapore Airlines also arrive at Hobart. Check www.travelonline.com for flights to and within Australia.

Hobart airport is situated 17km from the city centre and is easily reached by shuttle bus. The Airporter Shuttle Bus will deliver you to your accommodation in Hobart, or to transit stations. On departure for the airport you have no need to make a bus booking unless your flight is very early morning (www.redlinecoaches.com.au). Car hire and campervan facilities are also available at the airport.

By Sea:

The Spirit of Tasmania (www.spiritoftasmania.com.au) car and passenger ferries cross the Bass Strait from Melbourne to Devonport in the north of Tasmania.

By Train:

Passenger trains are no longer running in Tasmania. Check locally for some tourist routes on historic tracks.

By Bus/Coach:

For bus and coach travel information phone the MetroTas Hotline on 132201 for bus information in Hobart and other Tasmanian towns. For metropolitan travel, the Metro operates an excellent bus network system around Hobart.
